A government-level conference of Asian and African countries held in Bandung, Indonesia from April 18 to 24, 1955. It is also known as the Bandung Conference or the AA Conference. The conference was invited by the Colombo Group of Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), India, Pakistan, Indonesia, and Burma (now Myanmar) with the aim of expanding the area of peace and actively easing tensions between the East and the West. A total of 29 countries, including 15 Asian countries including Japan and China, 8 Middle Eastern countries, and 6 African countries, officially participated in the conference, which contributed to strengthening solidarity between Asia and Africa based on anti-imperialism and anti-colonialism. 1955年4月18~24日にインドネシアのバンドンで開催されたアジア,アフリカ諸国の政府レベルの会議。バンドン会議あるいはAA会議ともいう。平和地域を拡大し東西間の緊張を積極的に緩和することを目指して,セイロン(現,スリランカ),インド,パキスタン,インドネシア,ビルマ(現,ミャンマー)の〈コロンボ・グループ〉が招請したこの会議は,日本,中国を含むアジア15ヵ国,中東8ヵ国,アフリカ6ヵ国,計29ヵ国の正式参加をえ,反帝国主義・反植民地主義を基調としてアジア・アフリカの連帯を強めるのに貢献した。
