Hiramezaki - Hiramezaki

A cape in the southern part of Echizen Town, Nyu District, Fukui Prefecture. A ridge extending west-southwest from Mount Wakasu (564 meters) in the Nyu Mountains sinks into Wakasa Bay, with a lighthouse at its tip. From here, the coastline is a straight line along the Kaburaki Fault to the south, but to the north, the coastline is slightly concave between Cape Echizen and the cape. There are sea cliffs nearby, and no flat land at all. The small fishing port of Komeno is located on the south side, taking advantage of the protruding cape, but it is not completely protected from wind and waves, and small-scale coastal fishing has been in a slump in recent years.

福井県丹生(にゅう)郡越前町(えちぜんちょう)の南部にある岬。丹生山地の若須(わかす)岳（564メートル）から西南西に延びる尾根が若狭(わかさ)湾に没する所で、先端に灯台がある。ここから南は直線的な甲楽城(かぶらき)断層の海岸線で、北は越前岬との間のややへこんだ海岸線に転じる。付近には海食崖(がい)が発達して平地はまったくない。岬の突出を利用して、南側に米ノ(こめの)の小漁港があるが、風浪を防ぐに完全でなく、零細な沿岸漁業も近年はまったく振るわない。
