Taruma eagle (Tarumawasi) - Taruma eagle
A general term for small, planktonic amphipods with a body length of about 4 to 30 mm that are widely distributed along the coasts of warm waters such as the Pacific, Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Indian Oceans. They belong to the family Phronimidae, a suborder of jellyfish. There are about nine known species in two genera in this family. Their bodies are transparent, and sometimes have red spots scattered on the surface. Their heads are large and cone-shaped, with large red compound eyes that occupy almost the entire head and are divided into two parts, upper and lower.
