...The parts of the armor, such as the chest board, side board, shoji board, side shield board, helmet brow visor, sleeve crown board, sandalwood crown board, and dovetail board, which are made of iron plate, wrapped in dyed leather, usually with a small border of red five-star leather, and braided with colored thread, are collectively called metal fittings. The parts of the armor, such as the cotton bite, bat attachment, string running, and helmet fukigaeshi, which are covered with dyed leather on the small scale base, or have leather cores wrapped in dyed leather, are collectively called leather parts. In addition to the helmet and large sleeves, o-yoroi also comes with small armor such as nodowa (neck guard), kote (gloves), and sune-ate (shin guards) (after the end of the Kamakura period, o-tachi-age-shin-ate were used), and are depicted in the Ban Dainagon Ekotoba, Heiji Monogatari Emaki, and Mongol Shurai Ekotoba.

…胸板，脇板，障子板，脇楯の壺板，兜の眉庇，袖の冠板，栴檀の冠板，鳩尾板などのように鉄板を地として，染韋で包み，ふつう紅五星韋（べにのいつつぼしがわ）で小縁をとり，色糸で伏組みを施した部分を総称して金具回りという。また綿嚙，蝙蝠付，弦走，兜の吹返しなど，小札地を染韋で張り，または革を心に染韋で包んだ部分を革所と総称している。また大鎧には兜，大袖を具足するほかに喉輪（のどわ），籠手（こて），臑当（すねあて）(鎌倉末期以後は大立挙臑当を使用した)などの小具足を付属し，《伴大納言絵詞》《平治物語絵巻》《蒙古襲来絵詞》などに描かれている。…
