The longest river in Australia, located in southeastern Australia. It originates in the Great Dividing Range, flows west through the southern Darling Downs, becomes the Barwon River, and joins many tributaries to become the Darling River at Bourke. From there it flows southwest and empties into the Murray River at the border between New South Wales and Victoria. It is 2,844 km long. It is important for irrigation in the basin, but most of it is seasonal and does not have any water flow.

オーストラリア南東部にある同国最長の川。大分水山脈に発し，ダーリング・ダウンズの南部を西流，バーウォン川となり，多くの支流を合わせてバークに至ってダーリング川となる。ここから南西流，ニュー・サウス・ウェールズ州とビクトリア州の州境でマレー川に注ぐ。全長2844km。流域の灌漑(かんがい)に重要だが，大部分は季節河川のため水流はみられない。
