Li Ji-shen (English name)

[Born] Guangxu 11 (1885). Guangxi, Cangwu
Died October 9, 1959. Beijing Chinese soldier and politician. Former name Ji Chen. Graduated from the Beijing Military Academy. During the Northern Expedition, he was Chief of Staff of the National Revolutionary Army and commander in chief of Guangdong. In 1929, he campaigned against Chiang Kai-shek with Li Zongren and others, and in 1933, he participated in the Fujian Incident and became chairman of the Fujian People's Government, but failed and fled to Hong Kong. When the Second Sino-Japanese War broke out in 1937, he allied with Chiang Kai-shek and fought against Japan. In 1947, he was expelled from the Kuomintang for his anti-Chiang sentiment, and in 1948, he organized the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee in Hong Kong and became its chairman. In 1949, he participated in the establishment of the People's Republic of China, and served as vice chairman of the Central People's Government until 1954. He was later elected vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

中国の軍人，政治家。旧名は済琛。北京軍官学堂を卒業。北伐の際，国民革命軍総参謀長兼広東留守司令。 1929年李宗仁らと反蒋介石運動を行い，33年福建事変に参加し福建人民政府主席となったが，失敗してホンコンに逃亡。 37年日中戦争勃発により蒋介石と提携して日本と戦った。 47年反蒋のため国民党から除名され，48年ホンコンで国民党革命委員会を組織して主席に就任。 49年中華人民共和国成立に参加し，54年まで中央人民政府副主席。その後全国人民代表大会常務委員会副委員長，人民政治協商会議全国委員会副主席などに選ばれた。
