Dallisgrass

Japanese: ダリスグラス(英語表記)dallisgrass
Dallisgrass
A perennial grass of the grass family cultivated in warm regions as pasture. It is also called paspalumgrass. Its Japanese name is Shimasumenohie, and it has become naturalized in areas west of the Kanto region. It is native to South America, and was introduced to the southern United States from Uruguay or Argentina in the mid-19th century. The leaves are long and thin, about 30 cm long, and the stems grow in summer, producing ears at the end. The culms are thin, 60 to 150 cm tall, and have few leaves. The ears consist of 3 to 6 branched rachises, with 3 to 4 rows of spikelets about 3 mm in size arranged closely on one side.
