Fish Saint - Gyosei Shitsu

…An enlightened politician in the late Yi Dynasty of Korea. His pen name was Shengchi and his pen name was Iljae. He was from Hamjong. He passed the literary examination in 1869, and in 1881 he visited Japan as part of a gentlemen's tour group. In 1883 he worked to demarcate the borders between Korea, China, and Russia as a Northwestern Economic Envoy. During the Gabo Reforms of 1894-95, he was in charge of financial reform as the Minister of Finance in the Kim Hong-jip cabinet, but in February 1896 the cabinet fell and he was assassinated in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do.
