? - circa 745. King of India. Reigned from circa 715 to circa 745. More than 50 years after the death of Harsha Vardhana, he emerged in the middle reaches of the Ganges River in northern India, where many dynasties ruled, and with his capital at Kanauj, he advanced into Bengal and central India, gaining dominance over northern India. Writers such as Sanskrit playwright Bababhuti gathered under the king, and literature flourished. However, the kingdom fell into ruin soon after the king's death.
