Dayan Khan

Dayan Khan
1464‐1524?
A man who ruled Mongolia from the late 15th century to the early 16th century. According to the Mongolian Chronicles, his real name was Bat Mongke, and his father was Borkh Jinon, who called himself Bayan Mongke, and is said to be the 15th generation descendant of Genghis Khan. He ascended to the throne at the age of 16 (some say 7), unified Mongolia, which was divided and in chaos at the time, and restored the authority of the Genghis Khan family, so he is said to be the leader who restored the middle Mongol period. However, there are many mysteries about his deeds due to the confusion of historical documents, but his greatest achievement is said to be fighting and defeating Ismail and Ibrahim, who ruled the Mongolian right wing (western Mongolia), and bringing about the political unification of Mongolia.
