Born in 1766. Son of a feudal lord in Awa Tokushima. After studying Suika Shinto, he became the master of Yoshida Shinto. He established the private school Hidehosha in Kyoto and also spread his teachings throughout Japan. He passed away on September 16, 1830. He was 81 years old. His real surname was Yokoyama.
