A private consulting firm established in London in 1947 after World War II, influenced by American human relations theory. It gained worldwide fame by fully introducing L. von Bertalanffy's general systems theory into the social sciences and conducting behavioral science research on companies. In particular, the socio-technical systems theory developed by researchers such as EL Trist and FE Mery (the Tavistock School) had a major impact on academia and people involved in business.

第2次大戦後の1947年にアメリカの人間関係論の影響を受けて，ロンドンに設立された民間のコンサルティング会社。L.vonベルタランフィの一般システム論を社会科学に本格的に導入し，企業の行動科学的調査を行うことによって世界的に有名になった。とくにトリストE.L.TristやエメリーF.E.Emeryらの研究者(タビストック学派)を中心に展開された社会‐技術システム論は，学界や実務に携わる人々に多大な影響を与えた。
