A type of quick-drying writing implement. There are two types: one in which ink-soaked felt is placed in an aluminum or plastic container, and the ink is transferred to the felt tip, and one in which the ink is poured directly into the container, and the ink comes out when the felt tip is pressed, opening a valve. The ink is a mixture of xylene and other additives and oil-soluble pigments. It was marketed under the name Magic Ink around 1951. There are also felt-tip pens that use water-soluble ink.
