Spot analysis - Tenteikibunseki (English spelling)

A type of micro-qualitative analysis, this method detects substances contained in a sample by reacting a drop of sample solution with a drop of reagent solution. It is also called spot analysis. It is used as a preliminary test, simplified analysis, or rapid analysis. Usually, the reagent solution is placed on a drip plate made of porcelain or glass with many small indentations, or a drip paper (filter paper) soaked in the reagent solution is used to cause the reaction, and the reaction is confirmed mainly by the color that appears during the reaction. Therefore, the reaction must have high selectivity, specificity, and sensitivity. It has the characteristics of not requiring special equipment and being able to perform the analysis in a short time.
