A feudal lord of the early modern period. Born in Mino Province. Moriyoshi served the Saito, Oda, and Toyotomi clans, and his son Moritomo also belonged to Hideyoshi. He joined the Western Army in the Battle of Sekigahara, but was granted his former territory because he sided with the Tokugawa. He held a fief of 16,000 koku in Ikaruga County, Tanba Province, and had a camp in Yamaga (Yamaga Domain). In 1628 (Kan'ei 5), a division of the domain increased his fief to over 10,082 koku, and he continued to hold this fief until the end of the Edo period. The head of the family was appointed as Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade, Dewa no Kami or Harima no Kami, etc. After the Meiji Restoration, he became a viscount.
