Depending on the place of origin, i.e., the place of deposition, it is classified as sea sand, river sand (river sand), land sand, and mountain sand, but there is also sand obtained from the weathered parts of granite or weathered deposits, i.e., "masa" or "masado", and dam deposit sand. The average sand content in natural gravel (as a gravel/sand mixture) is about 30% for river and land gravel, about 80% for mountain gravel, and over 95% for sea gravel, which is about 50% of the total natural gravel (all by weight). …
