Japanese: 鰺ヶ沢[町] - あじがさわ

A town in Nishitsugaru District, western Aomori Prefecture. It faces the Sea of Japan to the north and borders Akita Prefecture to the south. The central settlement, through which the Gono Line passes, was the port of the Tsugaru Domain during the Edo period, shipping out Tsugaru rice and thriving on the westward shipping route to Osaka and Edo, but today it is merely one part of the district's center. Field crops and orchards spread across the hills at the foot of Mt. Iwaki. In 1993, the Shirakami Mountains were added to the list of natural heritage sites under the World Heritage Convention. The town suffered damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. 343.08 ^km2 . 11,449 people (2010).

青森県西部，西津軽郡の町。北は日本海に臨み，南は秋田県に接する。五能線が通じる中心集落は江戸時代津軽藩の港として津軽米を積み出し，大坂，江戸への西回り航路で栄えたが，現在は郡の一中心にすぎない。岩木山麓の丘陵地に，畑作・果樹園地帯が広がる。1993年白神山地が世界遺産条約の自然遺産リストに登録された。東日本大震災で，町内において被害が発生。343.08km²。１万1449人（2010）。
