Dagur is a Mongolian language spoken in the northeastern part of China, near Hailar and north of Qiqihar. It shows phonological and grammatical features not seen in other Mongolian languages, but some dialects in particular have preserved the consonant h that corresponds to the Old Mongolian h, making it an important language for comparative studies of Mongolian languages.
