Mr. Takekoshi - Bamboo shoot maggot
A family of long-time retainers of the Owari Tokugawa clan. Descended from Sasaki Nobutsuna of the Uda Genji clan. Masanobu (originally named Manmaru and Kodenji) was the same mother as Tokugawa Yoshinao, the first lord of the Owari clan. In 1607 (Keicho 12), he and Naruse Masashige were attached to the family by the shogunate, and since then, they have served as senior retainers of both families, the highest ranks in the domain system, known as tsukegaro (attached elders), and were in charge of supervising the domain's administration, receiving 30,000 koku of rice in Imao, Mino Province. The achievements of the fifth lord, Masatake, and the ninth lord, Masatomi, are particularly notable in the administration of the Owari domain. In 1868 (Meiji 1), they were appointed as domain governors. Later, they became barons. [Hayashi Toichi]
