Sueyasu Ijichi

Japanese: 伊地知季安 - いじちすえやす

1782-1867 A samurai from the late Edo period.
Born on April 11, 1782. A samurai of the Satsuma Kagoshima Domain. In 1818, he was exiled after the political upheaval of the domain and the collapse of the Konshiroku Records, but after being pardoned, he collected historical materials for the domain and published many works while under house arrest in Kagoshima. In 1852, he became the Record Magistrate, and later became a servant. He is famous for his work, "Satsuma-han Kyuki Miscellaneous Records." He died on August 3, 1867. His real surname was Ise. His first name was Suehide. His pen name was Koshizu. He was commonly known as Kojuro. His pen name was Senkaku.

天明2年4月11日生まれ。薩摩(さつま)鹿児島藩士。文化5年藩の政変,近思録崩れで遠島となり,ゆるされたのち鹿児島で謹慎中に藩の史料を収集,おおくの著作をあらわした。嘉永(かえい)5年記録奉行,のち用人。その仕事は「薩藩旧記雑録」で有名。慶応3年8月3日死去。86歳。本姓は伊勢。初名は季彬(すえひで)。字(あざな)は子静。通称は小十郎。号は潜隠。
