A group of hot springs in Onikobe, Naruko Onsen, Osaki City, northwest Miyagi Prefecture. It is a collective name for hot springs such as Onikobe, Todoroki, Kamitaki, Miyazawa, Fukiage, and Arayu, which are scattered along the main and tributaries of the Arao River (Eai River) that flows at the foot of Mt. Arao, and is also considered to be part of the Naruko Onsen area. Onikobe Onsen, along with Kawatabi Onsen and Nakayamadaira Onsen, is designated as a national hot spring resort as part of the Oku-Naruko Kawatabi Onsen area. Miyazawa and Fukiage have geysers that spew hot water at regular intervals, as well as Katayama Jigoku and the mud fountain of Fukiagezawa. There are many tourist attractions nearby, such as the Onikobe Resort Park (with a golf course, ski resort, etc.) and Naruko Dam. A bus is available from JR Naruko Onsen Station.
