Great calendar - Daitoureki

Japanese:
Great calendar - Daitoureki
〘Noun〙 A calendar from the Ming dynasty in China. It was created by Yuantong, a Ming dynasty clock scientist, and its origins date back to the 17th year of the Hongwu era under Emperor Taizu ( 1384 ). It was in use for over 200 years until the end of the Ming dynasty. In Japan, in 1684 , the Xuanming calendar, which had many errors, was abolished and an imperial decree for calendar reform was issued on March 3rd, with the Daitong calendar being distributed on April 29th. However, Shibukawa Harumi claimed that the Daitong calendar was inaccurate and proved this through experiments, so on October 29th of the same year, another imperial decree for calendar reform was issued and the Jokyo calendar, invented by Harumi, was adopted as the new calendar. ※The Jōkyō calendar (1822) (Kojiruien, Hogi 5) "According to this, the calendar can be changed , and last spring, the two Great Unified Calendars can be used , but it was announced that the two Great Unified Calendars would be stopped and the new calendars would be used, and the name of the Jōkyō calendar can be changed ."
