1911‐93 Mexican comedic actor. His real name was Mario Moreno. He made his film debut in 1936 and gained popularity with "There She Is" (1940). With his charming moustache, droopy, loose trousers and unique way of speaking, he brilliantly portrayed a man from Mexico's working-class neighborhood. His laughter and pathos had a unique flavor, and he became internationally famous after appearing in "Around the World in 80 Days."
