Lake Van is a lake in eastern Turkey, near the Iranian border. It is roughly rectangular, with an area of 3,713 km2 . The lake surface is 1,720 m above sea level. There is no outlet. It contains a lot of salt, and the salt extracted from it is used as a detergent.
