…However, in the classical period of ancient Greece, such a negative original meaning of truth was forgotten. For example, Plato came to think of truth as the agreement between ideas and ideas (the act of seeing or cognition) obtained by the correctness of the gaze or the correctness of the eye of the soul to the idea through the being before one's eyes (correspondence view of truth). When alētheia was translated into Latin as veritas, the negative character of the experience of truth contained in the prefix a was decisively lost, and in medieval scholastic philosophy, truth was defined as the agreement between the intellect and things, adaequatio, and was consistently viewed from the perspective of agreement or correspondence. However, this definition is also interpreted in two ways: on the one hand, it means that things are in agreement with the (divine) intellect (idea), and on the other hand, it means that human intellect is in agreement with things. …
