Dai-zi-bao (English spelling)

Japanese: 大字報 - だいじほう（英語表記）Dai-zi-bao

A Chinese wall newspaper. During the Rectification Movement of 1957, large-character newspapers, which contained workers' opinions and criticisms, were widely used. Mao Zedong emphasized their use, saying, "The large-character newspaper is a very effective new weapon.... It can be used wherever the masses are." Especially during the Cultural Revolution, they were widely used and posted in large-character newspaper rooms in factories, cooperatives, and schools (not open to the public), as well as on the streets. The large-character newspapers at Peking University and Tsinghua University played a major role in spreading the opinions of opinion leaders.

中国の壁新聞のこと。 1957年の整風運動において，労働者の意見や批判などを書いた大字報が大いに用いられた。毛沢東は「大字報は非常に効果のある新式の武器で，……大衆のいる所ならばどこでも活用することができる」としてこれの利用を強調した。特に文化大革命のときには，工場や協同組合，学校の大字報室 (一般には公開されなかった) や街頭などに盛んに張出され，活用された。なかでも北京大学と清華大学の大字報はオピニオン・リーダーの意見を知らせるという大きな役割を果した。
