A town in Tsukubo County in the southern part of Okayama Prefecture. The Uno Line runs through it. It was once an island, but since the Tensho era, land reclamation has progressed, and rush grass and cotton have been cultivated there. It is a junction of the Sanyo Expressway and the Setouchi Chuo Expressway, and the large Okayama Prefectural General Distribution Center has been built there. 岡山県南部，都窪(つくぼ)郡の町。宇野線が通じる。かつては島であったが，天正年間から干拓が進み，イグサ，綿が栽培された。山陽自動車道と瀬戸中央自動車道の結節点で，大規模な岡山県総合流通センターが建設された。繊維工業も発達。7.62km2。１万2214人（2010）。
