A red alga in the family Rhodophyceae of the order Ceratophyceae. Kurosozo, Kobusozo, and Mitsudesozo grow on rocks in the lower intertidal zone and are brown in color, while Hanesozo and Sozonohana grow on rocks in the bathyal zone or on other algae and are red in color. They have roughly branched axes with short pinnate branches that look like knobs. 紅藻類イギス目フジマツモ科の藻。クロソゾ,コブソゾ,ミツデソゾなどは潮間帯の下部の岩上に生じ,色は褐色に近いが,ハネソゾ,ソゾノハナなどは漸深帯の岩上やほかの藻類に着生して色は紅色である。あらく枝分れした軸に短い羽状枝が瘤のようについている。
