Silberer), and then some of the movement merged with Freemasonry, and in the 18th century, it once again underwent a new development. In France, the rank of "Knight of the Rosicrucian" was introduced to the Freemason lodge, and in Germany, the "Golden Rosicrucian Order" was formed in Berlin in 1777, which separated from Freemasonry, and is said to have been active among Georg Forster (1754-94) and anatomist Samuel Thomas Sömmering (1755-1830). It seems that Goethe was also interested in this organization, as can be seen in the scene in the long poem "The Secret" where the founder of the mountain monastery, Humanus, is on his deathbed, and a cross with roses entwined is engraved on the door of the monastery. …
