This botanical garden is located in Bogor, Indonesia. It was established in 1817 and was called Boitenzolf Botanical Garden during the Dutch colonial period. It covers an area of 44 hectares. With temperatures ranging from 22 to 30 degrees Celsius throughout the year and over 4,000 mm of rainfall, it is one of the world's leading tropical botanical gardens, cultivating around 10,000 species of plants. It is divided into sections by taxonomic group, with a focus on species native to Indonesia, including palm, bamboo, and orchid plants, but the rows of Canary palms are well known. Organizationally, it is a division of the Indonesian National Institute of Biology, and in addition to the Leaf Museum, which has a huge number of specimens, it also has an alpine botanical garden at an altitude of 1,400 meters in Cibodas, west of Bogor, as a branch garden.
