The phenomenon in which a radioactive nuclide spontaneously emits particles or electromagnetic waves and changes into another nuclide. There are many types of radioactive decay, but when classified according to the type of radiation emitted during the decay, they can be broadly divided into alpha decay, beta decay, orbital electron capture, nuclear isomer transition, spontaneous fission, delayed neutron emission, etc. [See other terms] Nuclear decay Source: Morikita Publishing "Chemical Dictionary (2nd Edition)" Information about the Chemical Dictionary 2nd Edition |
