Battle of Sempach - Battle of Sempach
In 1386, the Swiss cantonal militia defeated the Habsburg knights, who were trying to recover their former territories, at Sempach in central Switzerland. After the Battle of Nefers in 1388, Switzerland effectively achieved independence.
