A town in southeastern Lithuania. It is located about 30 km west of the capital, Vilnius. There are many lakes, including Lake Loukos, Lake Tristliskiu, and Lake Galve, and the surrounding area is designated as Trakai Historical National Park. It is known for its rich natural scenery surrounded by forests and lakes. Trakai was the capital before the capital was moved to Vilnius, and is home to Trakai Castle, built in the 15th century.
