A strait between southeastern Ireland and southwestern Wales in the UK. It is named after George, the patron saint of England. It is located at the southern entrance from the Irish Sea to the North Atlantic Ocean, and is about 160 km long and 80-155 km wide, with the narrowest part being 76 km between Cape Carnthore in Ireland and Cape St. David in Wales.
