An old town in Miyoshi County, occupying the mountainous area upstream of the Yoshino River in western Tokushima Prefecture. Ikeda, the town in the center, is a small castle town, and developed as a transportation settlement to Iyo, Sanuki, and Tosa, and is served by the Dosan Line. The town produces a lot of tobacco leaves, and woodworking furniture manufacturing and brewing industries are also thriving. Inohana Pass is located in the north. In March 2006, the town merged with the towns of Mino, Yamashiro, Ikawa, Higashi-Iyayama, and Nishi-Iyayama in Miyoshi County to become a city. Area: 167.80 km2 . Population: 16,489 (2003).

A town in Nakagawa District, southeastern Hokkaido. The Nemuro Main Line runs through the town. There are low hills on the east and west, and the Tokachibetsu River flows south through the center. In addition to rice, field crops, and dairy farming, the town also has food processing and forestry product processing factories. The town was named after Ikeda Farm. Tokachi wine went on the market in 1966, and the winery's Wine Castle is a tourist attraction. 371.79 km2 . 7,527 people (2010).

It is a producer of hand-pulled somen noodles. In March 2006, it was merged with Uchiumi Town in Shozu District to become Shodoshima Town in Shozu District. Area: 34.07 km2 . Population: 5,629 (2003).

It is also home to Kamagatani Valley, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot (a scenic spot and natural monument). Area: 38.80 km2 . Population: 24,980 (2010).

岐阜県南西部,揖斐(いび)郡の町。中心は揖斐川右岸にあり養老鉄道が通じる池野。良質の米,茶,タマネギ,イチゴを産し,タイヤ,ゴム製品などの企業がある。桜の名所霞間ヶ渓(かまがたに)(名勝・天然記念物)がある。38.80km2。2万4980人(2010)。
