Born on July 7, 1914. Joined Fuji Photo Film in 1939. Developed vacuum tube computers for camera lens design, and completed Japan's first computer, "FUJIC," in 1956. Later worked for NEC, and was a professor at Senshu University from 1972 to 1985. Died on July 23, 1998, aged 84. Born in Aichi Prefecture. Graduated from Tokyo Imperial University.
