Severus Dynasty - Severus

Severus Dynasty - Severus
This refers to the rule of the Severan family, which produced Roman emperors, from the accession of Septimius Severus (193) to the murder of Severus Alexander (235). During this time, the Severan lineage included Caracalla, Geta, and Elagabalus, but it was temporarily interrupted by Macrinus. The Severan rule was characterized by the strengthening of the privileged status of the military and soldiers, and was a precursor to the era of military emperors after 235. [Motomura Ryoji]
