The protagonist of the Chinese Ming Dynasty novel "Jin Ping Mei." A wealthy merchant from Qinghe County, Shandong Province during the reign of Huizong of the Song Dynasty, he acquired wealth and power through all sorts of dishonest means, and indulged in debauchery with many women, including Pan Jinlian, Li Ping'er, and Pang Chunmei, whose namesakes the book, but died at the young age of 33 after drinking too many aphrodisiacs. The origin of "Jin Ping Mei" is the scene in "Suikoden" where Ximen Qing has an affair with Wu Song's brother's wife, Pan Jinlian. He is a character who has taken his lust-chasing personality to the extreme, and while the era is based on the Song Dynasty, in a prosperous social climate reminiscent of the Wanli period at the end of the Ming Dynasty, his way of life, which unifies all values into "silver," can be said to be a new type of person who broke the Taoist constraints of desire.

中国，明の長編小説『金瓶梅』の主人公。宋の徽宗時代山東省清河県の豪商で，あらゆる不正手段で富と権勢を手にし，書名のもととなった潘金蓮，李瓶児，龐 (ほう) 春梅をはじめ数々の女性と淫蕩の限りを尽すが，媚薬を飲みすぎて 33歳の若さで世を去る。『水滸伝』の西門慶が武松の兄嫁潘金蓮と密通する情事場面が『金瓶梅』の発端となっている。色欲を追い求める性格を極限にまで増幅した人物であり，時代を宋に仮託しながらも明末万暦を思わせる爛熟した社会相のなかで，あらゆる価値を「銀」に一元化する生き方は，欲望の道学的束縛を打ち破った新しいタイプといえる。
