A type of tomb in China. A cave is dug into a cliff facing a river or plain. Some tombs have decorations on the inside or at the front of the entrance, and some are decorated with stone figures. The cliff tombs of the Han Dynasty near Chengdu, Sichuan Province, are famous for their stone figures. 中国における墓の一種。川や平野に面した断崖に横穴を掘込んで墓としたものをさす。墓室の内部や入口正面に装飾を施すもの,画像石で飾ったものなどがある。四川省成都付近の漢代の崖墓は画像石により著名である。
