Celestial Position Table - Tentaichihyō (English) Japanese Ephemeris
A Japanese astronomical almanac. It provides forecasts of astronomical phenomena associated with the positions of celestial bodies and their movements. First published by the Navy Hydrographic Department in 1943, it is currently published by the Hydrographic Department of the Japan Coast Guard. Its contents are broadly divided into two parts. Part 1 provides the heliocentric and geocentric ecliptic coordinates of the Earth, planets, and the four major asteroids, as well as the Moon's right ascension, declination, parallax, and mean positions, precession, and nutation of the stars. Part 2 covers astronomical phenomena, such as forecasts of solar and lunar eclipses, stellar eclipses, and the times of sunrise and sunset, as well as the 24 solar terms and miscellaneous holidays, such as the vernal equinox and summer solstice, and days of the week. The "Celestial Position Table" has a wide range of uses, including compiling nautical and civil calendars, preparing astronomical observations, and providing basic information for surveying and space activities.
