...According to Sarugaku Engi (Konparu Zenchiku, 1468), the lineage of the Konparu family dates back to the 26th generation, beginning with Hata Ujiyasu (who lived around the time of Emperor Murakami), followed by his eldest son Kotaro (27th), his son Bishaojiro (28th), and the 29th generation being succeeded by Yasaburo, the son of Koparu Gonmori's third son, Koparu Gonmori. Koparu Gonmori was an actor who lived almost the same time as Kannami and also wrote Shokunin. After the death of his eldest brother Kotaro, who was skilled in Oni Noh, a specialty of Yamato Sarugaku, he seems to have been the head carpenter of the Enmani-za troupe, and the name of the Konparu troupe is thought to have been derived from this stage name. The grandson of Koparu Gonmori was the 57th Konparu Ujinobu (Konparu Zenchiku), who was said to be the founder of the revival of the troupe....
