A species of the family Tineidae in the order Lepidoptera. Widely distributed from temperate to cold zones. Gray-brown in color, with a span of about 12 mm. The larvae are yellowish-white, about 10 mm, and feed on woolen fabrics and fur, weaving hair together to make nests. At suitable temperatures, several generations occur per year. 鱗翅(りんし)目ヒロズコガ科の1種。温帯〜寒帯に広く分布する。開張12mm内外で灰茶色。幼虫は黄白色,10mm内外,毛織物,毛皮などを食害し,毛をつづって巣を作る。適温では年に数世代を繰り返す。防除にはパラゾールなどが有効。
