This group of ancient tombs consists of 11 in total, including two keyhole-shaped tombs (No. 1 and No. 5) and nine square tombs (No. 2-4, No. 6-11), located on a low hill in Kanazaki, Nishikawazu-cho, Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. Currently, only Tombs 1-5 remain, the others having disappeared due to the development of housing estates. Tomb 1, thought to be the leader's tomb, is a keyhole-shaped tomb with a total length of approximately 36m. It was excavated in 1946 by Umehara Sueji and others, and re-excavated by the Matsue City Board of Education in 1976. It has no roofing stones, and cylindrical haniwa figures were used in the rear part, with fragments of house-shaped and human-shaped haniwa figures unearthed in the front part.
