Japanese: 伊賀[町] - いが

Iga is an old town in Ayama District, located in the northwest of Mie Prefecture, in the mountainous region that is part of the Nunobiki and Suzuka Mountains. There are urban areas in Shindo and Tsuge. Tsuge developed as a station town on the Kansai Main Line, where the Kusatsu Line branches off, National Route 25 (Meihan Highway) passes, and factories have also been established. In addition to producing rice, the area is also actively involved in beef cattle breeding. In November 2004, Iga merged with Ueno City, Aoyama Town in Naga District, Ayama Town in Ayama District, Oyamada Village, and Shimagahara Village to become a city. 62.01 ^km2 . 三重県北西部，布引山地，鈴鹿山脈に属する山地からなる阿山郡の旧町。新堂と柘植(つげ)に市街地がある。柘植は関西本線駅前町として発達，草津線が分岐し，国道25号線（名阪国道）が通り，工場も進出。米を産するほか，肉牛の飼育が活発。2004年11月上野市，名賀郡青山町，阿山郡阿山町，大山田村，島ヶ原村と合併し市制，伊賀市となる。62.01km²。１万965人（2003）。
