The ruins of a Mayan city in the capital of Guatemala. It is located on the western outskirts of the city. It flourished from the 4th century BC to the 3rd century AD, after which it declined for a period. It flourished again from the 5th to 7th centuries under the influence of the Teotihuacan culture of Mexico. It consists of more than 200 temples, houses, and tombs, but most of them are now buried under residential areas and factories. Kaminal Fuyu.
