This mosque is located in Istanbul. It was built by the architect Sinan in 1550-57, modeled after the Hagia Sophia. Together with the tomb of Suleiman the Magnificent, a madrasa, and educational and welfare facilities such as medical treatment, catering, baths, and lodging, it is part of the Külliye (Imaret) complex, a unique Ottoman Turkish architectural complex. The 53m-high large dome in the center of the prayer hall and the small and semi-domes surrounding it give a sense of rising, and as if responding to this, four thin, pointed minarets pointing to the sky are placed at the four corners of the courtyard.

イスタンブールにあるモスク。建築家シナンがハギア･ソフィアをモデルとして1550‐57年に建立。スレイマン1世の墓，マドラサ，施療，給食，浴場，宿泊等の教育･福祉施設とともに，オスマン･トルコ特有の複合建築群キュッリエkülliye(イマーレトimāret)を構成している。高さ53mに及ぶ礼拝堂中央の大ドームとその周囲に架けられた小ドーム，半ドームが迫り上るように上昇感を誘い，さらに，これに呼応するかのように中庭の四隅には，天を指す細くとがったミナレットが4基配置されている。
