〘Noun〙① A land-locked form of the anadromous satsukimasu. Biwamasu and yamame, the land-locked forms of cherry salmon, are different subspecies of the same species. Amago have clear red spots on their sides throughout their lives, making them distinguishable from the other two subspecies. They live in the upper reaches of rivers and feed on aquatic insects.
