Untied loan

Japanese: アンタイド・ローン（英語表記）untied loan

Also called untied loans. A type of international loan that does not place restrictions or conditions on the source or use of borrowed funds when the borrowing country uses the funds to procure goods or services. Almost synonymous with impact loans. The opposite is a tied loan. There are also partially untied loans with certain limits. Untied loans allow the borrowed funds to be used freely and do not require ties to a specific developed country, so developing countries, which are the main borrowers of international loans, are calling for the expansion of this type of borrowing method.

紐なし借款とも呼ばれる。国際間で行われる借款のうちで，借入国が借入資金によって物資や役務を調達しようとする場合，その調達先や用途などに制限や条件をつけないもの。インパクト・ローンとほぼ同義。この反対がタイド・ローン。一定の限度を設けた部分アンタイド・ローンもある。アンタイド・ローンは借入資金を自由に使用でき，また借入れにより特定の先進国との結びつきを要求されることもないので，国際借款における主要借入国である発展途上国は，この借入方式の拡大を要求している。
