Japanese: スタンリー滝 - すたんりーたき（英語表記）Stanley Falls

This refers to the rapids section of the Congo (Zaire) River in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire) in central Africa, from Kisangani upriver for about 100 kilometers. There are seven waterfalls in this section, with a combined drop of about 70 meters, but they are a major obstacle to shipping. The Congo River is also called the Lualaba River upstream from here. The name of these falls comes from explorer Stanley, who was the first Westerner to visit this area, but in the Democratic Republic of the Congo they are called Boyoma Falls, and have now been renamed Wagenia Falls.

アフリカ中央部、コンゴ民主共和国（旧ザイール）東部のコンゴ（ザイール）川のうち、キサンガニ付近より上流約100キロメートルの間の急流部をいう。この区間に七つの滝があり、落差はあわせて約70メートルと小さいが、舟運にとっては大きな障壁となっている。コンゴ川はここより上流をルアラバ川ともよぶ。なお、この滝の名称は、欧米人としてこの地を初めて訪れた探検家スタンリーの名に由来するが、コンゴ民主共和国ではボヨマ滝とよび、現在はワゲニア滝と改称されている。
