An old town in Abu District facing the Sea of ​​Japan in northern Yamaguchi Prefecture. Susa, the central area through which the San'in Main Line passes, has been a port town and fishing base since ancient times. Susa Bay (a scenic spot and natural monument) is rich in inlets and small islands, and outside the bay, there are Tenjin Rock, Tatami Rock, the cliff of Byobu Rock, and Takayama, famous for the Magnetic Stone (a natural monument), making up one of the centers of Kitanagato Coast Quasi-National Park. In March 2005, it was incorporated into Hagi City along with Abu District's Tamanagawa Town, Asahi Village, Fukuei Village, Kawakami Village, and Mutsumi Village. 87.15 km2 . 3,794 people (2003).
